The world relies on China to keep its factories running and the global economy humming. But the coronavirus is causing havoc. Workers are being quarantined and supply lines for goods have been cut.

In a world which is vastly more interconnected than it was at the time of SARS, if the coronavirus becomes a pandemic it will take us into uncharted territory.
