A digital ThinkIn with Greg James

Monday 6 July 2020

Duration: 6:30PM - 7:30PM

Status: Completed

With his hugely popular Radio 1 breakfast show, Greg James has brought joy back to our mornings – and proved radio still matters to young people. The award-winning DJ, who has opened up important conversations around mental health with his Sports Relief challenges, joins us to talk about the responsibility of having a platform and using it; how to break into broadcasting and how cricket makes the world go round. (He may even bring along his loveably stupid dog, Barney).

About Greg James

After pestering his local hospital radio station at the tender age of 14, Greg James was eventually given a show out of pity, only later to find out that the transmitter was broken and his shows were never broadcast. Greg studied Drama at The University of East Anglia, and picked up the ‘Best Male Presenter’ award at the Student Radio Awards in 2005.

His first ever show at the BBC was broadcast on 1st June 2007, the day after he graduated. In August 2018, Greg took over Radio 1 Breakfast show from Nick Grimshaw. This year he won the ARIA (Audio and Radio Industry Award) for best new show.
