Banning Trump: did Facebook call it right?

When Facebook kicked Trump off its platform after the Capitol riots, it referred the case to its independent ‘oversight board’. The decision will not only be crucial for Trump – who might run again in 2024 – but to the way political speech is governed for Facebook’s 2.8 billion users. But who are the oversight board? How are its members selected? What are they paid? What detail can we know about their processes, and the context of their decisions? What else might they have to deal with? And how powerful are they really?
