Tortoise ThinkIn – Is porn ruining sex?

Thursday 24 October 2019

Duration: 6:30PM - 7:30PM

16-19 Eastcastle Street, London, W1W 8DY

Status: Completed

Endless intercourse, long-lasting erections and multiple orgasms. Watch a porn video and it might all seem too good to be true. Blamed for everything from performance pressure to desensitisation and unrealistic beauty standards, has porn taken the magic out of intercourse?

Special guests include:

Zara DuRose, award-winning adult model

Sebastian Schub, a 21 year old singer/songwriter based in London. He first experienced erectile dysfunction at 19, and shortly after was able to diagnose himself with PIED (Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction). Two years later, he is now recovered and is using his platform as a musician to raise awareness of the issue – gathering support for the many facing the same struggle

Fiona Mackenzie, Founder of We Can’t Consent To This – a project cataloguing the women and girls killed and injured in claimed “consensual” sexual violence

Chair: Merope Mills, Editor & Partner, Tortoise

What is a Tortoise ThinkIn?

A ThinkIn is not another panel discussion. It is a forum for civilised disagreement. Modelled on what we call a ‘leader conference’ in the UK (or an editorial board in the US), it is a place where everyone has a seat at the table. It’s where we get to hear what you think, drawn from your experience, energy and expertise. It’s where, together, we sift through what we know to come to a clear, concise point of view. It is the heart of what we do at Tortoise.

Drinks from 6.00pm, starts promptly at 6.30pm. If you are late to a ThinkIn you can ‘SlinkIn’!

If you would like to contribute to this ThinkIn, let us know by emailing thinkin@tortoisemedia.com We film our Thinkins so we can watch them back, edit the best bits and share them with members who weren’t there in person.

Members can find their ThinkIn booking code in My Tortoise, under My Membership.
